COVID-19 Policy

Posted by on

I thought you all would want to know my feelings and policies regarding COVID-19 since all of my products are made from hand, and what I am doing as a business owner to prevent the spread of this virus.

Since it's start I have taken many precautions. With my background in herbalism and my current status as a Registered Nursing student I understand the seriousness of this infectious disease. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) states that "Reopening America requires all of us to move forward together by practicing social distancing and other daily habits reduce our risk of exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19."

What I am Doing

The CDC provided a list of disinfectants that will kill viruses even stronger than COVID-19. While I am still using my general cleaning methods of 1/2 vinegar/1/2 water with a blend of essential oils, I am taking EXTRA precautions by using one of their recommended disinfectants as well.

When packages are received through USPS, UPS, FedEx, I open the box outside, and carefully inspect and remove all contents wearing gloves. Then I apply a disinfectant to the outside of all items, and bring them inside.

When I am creating formulas, I wear a hair covering, goggles (with soapmaking) and a headband.

When I go out in public, I wear a mask.

My children will not be going back to school this year, and are being homeschooled through Florida Virtual School. They are extremely limited on what they can do, and it is difficult to be their loving parent, while telling them no, time and time again.

I do not support businesses who are not enforcing their mask policies.

Since I have always been a "homebody" and an introvert, I don't mind staying home. The nursing program I am in is currently all virtual, and I'm okay with that for now. One day I am hoping to use my nursing degree to further enrich my abilities to providing plant-based medicine for skincare.

What Can You Do

When you receive your package from me, even though it may be clean and sanitized on the inside, you may want to remove your items with gloves outdoors, and discard the packaging material as it may have become infected through mail handling (not our wonderful mail service providers faults, I LOVE my mail carriers! I am hoping that our postal service which has been delivering my packages for over 20 years, is not disrupted).

I hope this information helps you in feeling more confident about purchasing from someone like myself who is taking precautions, taking the time to properly socially distance, and staying safe as possible in order to be healthy and to keep provide my handmade products to you for many years to come.
